We got GPS files made and control points set on the subdivision. We got our machines set up and started building subgrade. We start by getting out ditches to grade and using the material taken out of the ditches to build up to our subgrade on the roads. We get our subgrade as smooth as possible. Using water and packing ensures our subgrade is to the highest standards. We did the subdivision in 3 phases. So we subgrade 1 phase, then we start hauling in Road Base. We had excellent guys hauling our material in. Once the material is on site, we dump it at a consistent and even rate to make work on the motor grader and all other equipment easier and more efficient. We bring the road base in one stretch at a time so we can finish one stretch a day to use the water we put on the base for maximum compaction. After compaction, we watered the road down a 2ed time, compacted it, and proof rolled it for the final inspection. We repeat this on every phase making sure we leave the road ready for chip seal.
